Sakis Papadopoulos has worked as a professional photographer since 1995.In 1990, he obtained his diploma at the Photography Academy in 1993, in Amsterdam. After graduation, led by his curiosity for foreign cultures and a passion for travel, he began his first photo trips and started to create a collection of travel photographs from Europe and Asia.
His colorful and soulful images have soon seduced Tourism and Hotel industries. He was just a step-away from his first photo assignment.
The constant growth of requests brought him to create his own Photography and Stock Agency, IMPRESSIONS PHOTOGRAPHY in 1994, specializing himself first in Hotel & Resort photography and travel photography, soon followed by Aerial photography, Lifestyle and Still-Life Photography as a completion of his work skills.
Now
Working today for the Luxury Hotel and Resort Industry, Sakis has built his reputation through a high-quality, creative, elegant photography and videography. He also works for Advertising, Corporate, and Editorial clients Worldwide. His photography is represented by Stone, Image Bank and Robert Harding Photo Agencies. Sakis photographs and films reveal his sensibility and inspiration for colors and natural light.
Maldives Photography
During his first photo assignment in the Maldives in 2000, he immediately got inspired by the destination. Since then, he has traveled to these wonderful and unique islands several times a year for personal projects, Hotel & Resort photo-assignments and aerial photography.
Sakis has created an extensive and unique collection gathered under the name "Creative Collection". In 2005, he published the first Edition of the successful photography book, Dreaming of Maldives™, as well as Maldives yearly calendars and a series of postcards. The 2nd Edition of Dreaming Of Maldives™ was published in 2008 and the 3rd in April 2011.

Photo assignments are scheduled for the upcoming period to create new images for Hotels and Photo Agencies I am working for. New photos for the third Edition of Dreaming Of Maldives are also on the go. "

The light
There is no better light than the natural light to enhance and render the beauty and particularity of a subject. It takes time and requires patience but results are so much worth it. According to my client requirements, weather conditions and/or natural light availability of the property, I also use professional lighting.
Digital Manipulation
Sakis photographs are made without digital manipulation.
What I see in my lens is what I get, so the post-production on my images is reduced to its basic adjustment needs : like lens correction or vignette removing. Having been working on location for 10 years with medium format slides learnt me to photograph with precision and to let no space for mistakes
